Internet Tasting Session: November 15

in Reviews, blogs

November has set in, and all there is to do is wait until winter comes. Okay, screw that! This time of year is when we all settle into the holiday schedule of baking, partying, and forgetting a bit about active summer days. Now we can spend more time with the family, and of course, tasting more good items. Grab your cider, and let’s go taste!

Broccoli

Parmesan Roasted Broccoli by The Purple Foodie – I used walnuts, but the dish was a hit!

Chicken

Chicken Parmesan by Macheesmo – The pictures and recipes were so enticing, I made them when I got home that evening. Sometimes you have to go further than just tasting!

Individual Buffalo Chicken Pot Pies by Food in my Beard – Well, the pies were so good, unfortunately a camera got axed in the session. It’s all for the food, right?

Chili

Buffalo Chili by Macheesmo – There would be a long lineup to this pot of chili. Nick gets hardcore and makes his own chili powder. Money!

Chocolate

Ultimate Hot Chocolate by Our Best Bites – The ultimate guide on hot chocolate. I believe they are responsible for my son’s demanding “choclit!” all the time.

Cookies

German Christmas Cookies by Brown Eyed Baker – My Oma used to make these cookies. I am glad to have found a recipe to try this year.

Greek

Gyros and Pita Bread by Kalofagas – By far my favorite Greek street food is the Gyro. This post features a craft way to make Gyros using a paper towel holder. I’m drooling just thinking of the homemade pita bread with the tender Gyro inside.

Pastry

Halloween Candy Bars by Food in my Beard – I know, Halloween is past. Thing is, nougat is a tough recipe, and Beardie deserves a mention here. The recipe is money, and so is the end product. Yum!

Shrimp

Grilled Cajun Shrimp Po Boy by Ezra Pound Cake – Oh, the delightful Cajun shrimp tossed with a spicy remoulade stuffed inside a crusty baguette. How can anyone go wrong with this dish?

Squash

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Stuffed Squash by the Healthy Everythingtarian – A delightful dish that sounds more complicated than it actually is. I liked the idea of this dish so much; I put it on my banquet menu as a vegetarian item.

Sweet Potatoes

Rosemary Roasted Sweet Potatoes by Ezra Pound Cake – No marshmallows! Seriously, these went on the menu at home as soon as I saw them.
