A trip to the fruiterie

Isn't this a sight for tired, Winter eyes?

I recently posted about how best to change the World Food Crisis. Here is a photo that corresponds with that. You are looking at the famous Saint Eustache Fruiterie. What it is – a market that caters to most of their products “qui vienne au Quebec!” (Who come from Quebec.)

For sure, not everything here is local, but the majority is. From cheeses, charcuterie, breads, and produce – it is all here. Sometimes the prices are higher, but sometimes they even shock you with how low they are.

This particular Fruiterie competes with an IGA that is right across the street. I like to shop here better, because I know the produce is in good hands. Also, supporting local talent is what it is all about.

Do you have a favorite farmer’s market you like to go to?

I hate to rub it in but I live in Los Angeles and the farmers Market is a short walk down the hill and I go pretty much every Sunday, 52 weeks a year. It’s always overflowing with fresh local bounty. La-dee-dah, la-dee-dah! Do you hate me ;-) GREG

@GREG – not at all. I like to get the stuff here as well. It sucks sometimes in the winter, but I also got something you might crave: MAPLE SYRUP! Do you hate me for that? ;)
