Hello all. The end of the month has hit with a vengence! I have taken over the role of my parting chef and all that entails. I have been conspicuously quiet as I come to grips with that post. I do have some good news for you all, I am going to be on the Television!
I just finished a shooting where I am making a miso marinated black cod served with a gomae salad. I am talking to the hosts of the show, and demonstrating how to cook the dish. That is enough to turn a few people green, but no, that is not enough. I did it in french!
When I moved here to Montreal, (or for those of you in the know, St. Eustache,) I did not really know a lick of the french language. There I was, conversing and demonstrating cooking in a language that is not my mother tongue! Surreal says it nicely.
All in all, it was no big deal. I demonstrated the two components of the dish while talking to the hosts, and then I re-did the same dishes with the camera close up. The camera guys said that I was a natural. If I get any more information, I will post it.
